Free Anti Spam Software

After my ex and I split, he kept my computer which is a Dell, purchased in 2004. Once divorce was final I got my computer back - sabotaged. It came back loaded with worms and viruses. Also, the date was wrong - behind by two years! I restored the computer to its original settings - like it came out of the box and started over. Then I subscribed to and installed virus protection, firewall, spam filter, etc. After some time and money and lots of effort, I think I have everything cleaned up and things are running fine. My problem is the date is still messed up. I know how to change it, but everytime I do, my current subscriptions instantly become expired because they think two years have magically passed. Is there anything I can do about this, or just live with it?
I tried changing the date and then reinstalling. It didn’t work. Thanks anyway!

I apologise in advance if my question is not worded correctly or if the terms I have used are not technically correct.

I receive all my emails through Yahoo mail but I am getting an increasing number of spam emails. Today, I purchased the MailWasher Pro software to help filter out the spam but it seems to want to link up with Outlook Express which I have never used because I could not get it set up. I cannot get MailWasher to associate with Yahoo mail.

1) Do I really need to have Outlook Express if I have Yahoo Mail?

2) If it isn’t essential , how do I remove it from the computer. It is not in Add/Remove and there is no ‘uninstall’ tool attached to it?

3) How do I get MailWasher to filter the emails via Yahoo mail?

Any help at all would be much appreciated.

Ok heres the story insight being in kentucky where I live, has been turning off my internet services off and on 3 times in the past 4 weeks.

Now they claim that my computer and my modem not being wireless one, but being the hybrid one being the one that hooks your phone line and being boardband, because I have the phone and internet bundle thing, also being that am the only one that uses this computer, and modem, and don’t have it on all the time.

Now they keep saying i got a virus, and well keep saying my ip address is sending out mass emails to people, but they know it’s not me but they don’t seem to care, being that they find it easier to shut your service down, then track the people sending you the virus, or the person trying to hack you, etc, they pretty told me to just never turn on my computer and that there not 100% protected, and yet expect me to be, and I been doing what they told me to do, doing destructive system restores, but I kinda feel it’s not my computer or me thats the problem, it’s them, so curious to know if anyone else has experience this before.

I mean before anyone tells me to go with another service, keep in mind theres not a whole lot to pick from, and dail up not a choice, keeping in mind this is pc and not a laptop.

Also I’m not going to pay someone to clean my computer when I can do it myself, thats fine for rich people but I’m not rich, plus anyone thats anyone knows system restores are a pain in the butt, and well I kinda get this feeling that it’s some kind of scam, I mean most people that use the internet don’t even have virus protection or scan there computers or do system restores, and normally have a bunch load of viruses and yet there services never get turn off, so asking is it just me, I mean I had this same internet service for 7 years now, and well I just think it doesn’t matter what I do am damn if I do and damn if I don’t, because they believe in blaming me, then helping me out, also still thinks it’s funny how they cant protect there self, but yet expect em knowing there is no such thing as full proof means to safe guard your computer all the time, I mean I have my computer with spyware protection and ip hider software, and ca thing they offer when you go through insight, BTW how can a virus or hacker use your ip address to send spam mail to people if your using ip hider, and changer, I mean because there design to protect you from stuff like this.

Any help on this be great, because its bugging the hell out of me.

btw anyone remember that virus outbreak back in may of 2007, when insight had to shut its services down, am sure that us being the customers are at fault for that to, I mean I take this stuff quite personally, I mean insight anymore won’t admit if its something on there end and even if it was they find it easier not to fix it, I mean it’s very misleading from there tv ads, I mean ain’t there people paid to keep this from happening, I mean theres only so much I or anyone else can do, but they pretty don’t want to take any responsibility, regardless being my fault or not, keeping in mind I don’t make it my personally goal to get viruses, or hack, but like they say shit happens, and well much like driving a car, all because you follow the laws and rules doesn’t mean you won’t ever get into a wreak, see what am saying?

Again any help on this by anyone be great, because I need someone to look into this and I need suggestions and opinions that count here.

i am sick now, i get about 30 stupid emails per day on microsoft, what type of file do i look for to delete on my computer to stop this???
sorry, should have explained better. it is my outlook email. i don’t give it out or use it to subscribe, ever. it is only for family and friends.

I am using Otlook Express. Even though I have a spam filter I am sick of the spam that comes daily. I have created a new user name - with the same internet company. I will keep both accounts. I wish to use SWITCH IDENTITY. Can you tell me how I can use the same address book for both accounts? I also would like to move some folders of saved emails to the new identity too.

Emails keep getting sent to everone in my address book through my email address. It is all spam.

When I use Outlook I get a TON of junk mail. I was wondering if there is anyway to get or use a SPam/Junk folder to help filter this out! Please help!!

Recently I had downloaded a patch for a certain software. The readme said to execute the file and i did as said. When I tried using my program it didn’t work. Suddenly whenever I clicked A link on the explorer it will take me to a spam site that is attempting to give out a ‘free’ Antivirus which obviuosbly is a scam but it continously comes and never stops. Now im stuck everytime i press enter, left click on folders or even use IE it redirectes me to that link. I used my anti virus and nothing worked and I also tried System Restore but nothing happened someone please suggest what i should do to remove of this problem as it has become seriously annoying
