Free Anti Spam Software

The junk mail filtering within hotmail hasn’t helped at all; it falsely flags more good mail than bad. I’ve tried using Outlook Express with a spam filter, with little results. Maybe I have to keep trying that……..?
Anyway, I’d love to have a way to control spam without having to use a pop3 client. Any tips?

What is the best anti-spam software available free on the internet?
A good Outlook Express plug-in would be preferable, but any effective software suggestions would be welcome!

I apologise in advance if my question is not worded correctly or if the terms I have used are not technically correct.

I receive all my emails through Yahoo mail but I am getting an increasing number of spam emails. Today, I purchased the MailWasher Pro software to help filter out the spam but it seems to want to link up with Outlook Express which I have never used because I could not get it set up. I cannot get MailWasher to associate with Yahoo mail.

1) Do I really need to have Outlook Express if I have Yahoo Mail?

2) If it isn’t essential , how do I remove it from the computer. It is not in Add/Remove and there is no ‘uninstall’ tool attached to it?

3) How do I get MailWasher to filter the emails via Yahoo mail?

Any help at all would be much appreciated.

I get about 15-20 not so nice kind of email in my bulk every day. I always just delete them, and never open them. I really want them to go away, any suggestions? I am afraid to open them in case of a virus or something. The computer I use is also used for my husband’s business stuff, so I really don’t want to take any chances of messing things up. any real help would be greatly appreciated.

I keep getting emails that contain random long messages of a similar layout, but the sent from address, is different everytime. This means i can’t put the address in the spam filter because it is different each time. It’s more of an annoyance than anything. Please help.

I use OE as my main e-mail, and it seems that my clients who use Yahoo or Hotmail are not receiving my e-mails. I am using a secondary identity on OE mostly for business, which is where I send the e-mails from. The main identity is my personal account. I always ask the clients to check their spam filters, etc. and still have problems. I even tested it to send an e-mail to myself at this Yahoo address and it has not showed up! Help! I cannot afford for my clients who have yahoo accounts to not receive my e-mails. Is there anything else I can do??

1) My PC came with Webroot and Norton installed (about a year ago and it’s time to renew). Is there an advantage to buying the software vs downloading it? Would/Will I still have to renew again after a year if I went and bought it?

2) When comparing what you get for free vs. what you pay for, does having a firewall mean you have all the Anti stuff (Virus, Spam, Spy-Ware) by default and what really is the distinction?

Several months ago I started getting Nigerian scam emails e.g. I’m a prince from oogaboogastan and I need to send my 10 million dollars in diamonds to a trusted source. Please contact me with checking account number, social security number and a small deposit…. Who the heck falls for this? Anyhow… I keep marking them as spam but they keep coming from a different email each time. I’m about ready to switch my email to google just to stop the constant barrage of crap. Any way to make it stop?
